Remove PDF Password using PDF Password Remover Tool

There are two types of password protections in PDF which is,
  1. User Password – Password to open the PDF file
  2. Owner Password – Password to print, copy, modify the PDF file
If your PDF file is protected with User Password, this trick will not work for you. This tool will not be able to recover and remove the password from the PDF.
However if the PDF file is using Owner Password, this tool will decrypt and remove the password so you can print, copy, and make changes to the document.

PDF Password Remover Tool

PDF Password Remover Tool is a freeware PDF password recovery that will decrypt the Owner Password and remove it from the PDF file. I’ve tested this software and it works perfectly.
If you want to remove the User Password, this tool will popup an alert saying ‘Cannot decrypt pdf file. Incorrect password.’ as shown in the image below.

PDF Password Remover Tool unable to decrypt and remove the User Password.
But if the PDF file is using Owner Password, it will able to remove it, and save a new copy which allows you to print, copy and modify the document content.

PDF Password Remover Tool successfully removed the Owner Password.
PDF Password Remover Tool is free for personal use. As mentioned by the developer, please use this tool to remove passwords from PDF files that belong to you. It was developed to help you recover PDF files in cases where you forget the owner passwords you once set and can no longer remember. Hope this helps!

Cannot delete files? How to delete them?

Sometimes, you can’t delete certain files because they are currently in used by another software or process. Each time you try to delete the in-use file, Windows will give a warning like this:

" Cannot delete Folder: It is being used by another person or program.
Close any programs that might be using the file and try again.

So how to delete it? There are three ways that you can use to delete the in-use file.

1. Command Prompt
You can force delete the in-use file in command prompt. In Windows XP, go to Start > Run > type “cmd” > Ok. In the command prompt, go to the file directory and type this:

" del filename.extension

Yea, replace the filename and extension with the filename and it’s extension. Eg: notepad.exe.

2. Safe Mode
If you find it is difficult to delete from command prompt, you can delete in Windows Safe Mode. When the computer boot up, press F8. An options screen will appear and choose Safe Mode from the list.
When boot up in Safe Mode, Windows will run only small amount of processes and you can delete the file without any problem.

How to remove applications from the Right-click Menu?

I have installed many soft-wares lately and was shocked when found out that my right-click context menu has many applications. Most of them are not even use. Some soft-wares allow you to disable the context menu from its options settings. But some of them don’t have the options and not allow you to remove the applications from the context menu.
I thought to remove the applications from the context menu requires special software. Unfortunately, I was wrong. You can do that directly from registry.
When we are talking about registry, many of us are scared because registry is the core of our system. If we messing up the registry, we are actually messing up our operating system. Therefore, please make a backup of your registry before you continue.

To edit the right-click menu, go to Start > Run and type “regedit” (without the quotes). Then click Ok. There are two parts that I will discuss here. The first part is about to remove the applications from files context menu and the second part is to remove the applications from the folder context menu.

Part 1: Files context menu

While you are in the Registry Editor, go to

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\

You will see something like this

These are the applications that you see when you right click a file. You can either delete the application folder or you can just disable them. But I prefer to disable just in case I want it back in the future.

To disable the application, click on the application folder and in the key panel, right click the key name and choose Modify. Let say that the Value Data is like this

{D25B2CAB-8A9A-4517-A9B2-CB5F68A5A802}

What you need to do is just add a minus (-) in front of the value like this

-{D25B2CAB-8A9A-4517-A9B2-CB5F68A5A802}

Click Ok, refresh and try right clicking on any file. Now you will see the unwanted application has been removed from the context menu.

Part 2: Folders context menu

How about for the folder? The steps are the same but the directory to the shell extension is different. You need to go to this tree,

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\

Here, you will see the applications that attached on the context menu. You can either delete the application folder or just disable like you did for the files.

In the key panel, right click the key name, choose Modify and add the minus in front of the value. Click Ok and refresh. Now right click on any folder and there application has gone from the right click menu.

Files Hidden by Virus. How to Unhide Them?

My college was panicked when he found out his Project files were missing from his pen drive. He thought the files were already gone by a virus attack or were accidentally deleted by his friends.
After I did some analysis, I found out the files are still there but a virus had modified the file properties to ‘Hidden’ and hide all files in the pen drive.
Although he tried to “Show Hidden Files” but the virus does not allow him to view them. Luckily, he has a very intelligent and clever friend who guides him on how to overcome this problem.

The Solution

1. Insert the thumb drive to an empty USB slot. Take note the drive letter. For an example, F:.

2. Press Windows + R, and type “cmd“. Ok.

3. Enter this command,

attrib -s -h -r f:/*.* /s /d

4. Press Enter and wait for the command to execute.

5. Open the thumb drive and you should see the files that were hidden by the virus.

Hopefully this guide will solve your files hidden by virus problem too. BTW believe me, university is the best place for virus to spread!
